Biography:	The artists are not your typical otaku… Or at least they like to think so. The Comiku Girls, Akiko Meigetsu and Li Izumi, are artists, cosplayers, and anime convention cultural panelists. They write the webcomic Comiku Girls, which centers on convention life from the inside, and the occasional life in between. Akiko is a practicing artist, having studied brush painting with a Chinese Master to compliment her five years of formal study in watercolors. In addition to being a practicing artist, Li is a Master’s student in Japanese Studies. Li Izumi has studied Japanese language and culture for over a decade, including a semester in Akita, Japan. At conventions, they run a various panels centered on art and Japanese culture, including an interactive demonstration of a Japanese Tea Ceremony.
