AnimeCons.com Press Release Submission Form
Use this form to submit press releases for anime conventions.
Please do not submit your personal convention reports here! Use our convention report form to submit links to con reports.
If you would like to add AnimeCons.com to a press mailing list rather than using this form each time, please contact us and request our e-mail address for press releases.
WARNING: VERY LARGE BACKLOG! Due to a very large number of submissions, AnimeCons.com has an extremely large backlog. You may still submit updates, but it will take longer than usual before we get to them. Duplicate submissions do not get your updates done any faster...and will likely just get you moved to the bottom of the pile. Patience is appreciated.
Before submitting a press release, please consider these helpful tips:
- PRWeb has many helpful tips on properly writing and formatting press releases.
- Opening pre-registration for your event is not news. Cutting it off because it's full is. (Refer to man bites dog.)
- Sending us rules for a contest is not a press release. Please don't assume that putting a paragraph before and after a list of rules makes it okay.
- If you are sending us a new press release almost every day, you are sending us too many. Don't be surprised if we stop posting most of them. Also, you may discover that when you send out releases too frequently, people start to ignore you...as if you're always over their shoulder shouting, "Hey listen!"
- Remember, using ® or once (on the first occurrence of the word or phrase) is plenty. Putting it on every occurrence is excessive. [more info]
- Spell check and grammar check! Have several other people proofread your press release. Save yourself some embarrassment later by getting it right now.
- Be absolutely certain you want the press release out there before you submit it. Once it goes out to other sites via RSS and gets posted to Twitter, it is impossible for us to remove the posting from those third-party sites.
- AnimeCons.com staff members have lives too. We may not always be able to post press releases immediately.
